🔒 Biosecurity Levels
Level 1: Farm Perimeter ▼
Fence the quail housing area, limit access, post biosecurity signs, use foot baths.
Level 2: Building Access ▼
Designate clean/dirty zones, provide dedicated footwear, hand wash station.
Level 3: Bird Management ▼
Quarantine new birds for 30 days, purchase from reputable sources only.
📋 Biosecurity Plan Template
Use this template to create your farm's biosecurity plan. Complete each section and review quarterly:
1. Farm Perimeter
- ☐Fenced area with limited access points
- ☐"Biosecurity Zone" signs posted
- ☐Foot baths at all entry points (changed daily)
- ☐Visitor log maintained at entrance
- ☐Wild bird netting/screens installed
- ☐Rodent bait stations placed around perimeter
2. Building Access
- ☐Dedicated farm boots/shoe covers at entrance
- ☐Hand wash station with soap and sanitizer
- ☐Clean/dirty zones clearly marked
- ☐Limited number of authorized personnel
- ☐Dogs/cats excluded from quail house
3. Bird Management
- ☐New birds quarantined for 30 days
- ☐All birds purchased from NPIP-tested sources
- ☐Equipment never shared between flocks without disinfection
- ☐Dead birds removed and disposed of immediately
- ☐Sick birds isolated in separate area
- ☐"All-in, all-out" management practiced when possible
🧹 Cleaning Chemical Guide

⚠️ Important
Always remove birds before disinfecting. Rinse food-contact surfaces with clean water after disinfection. Never mix chemicals. Wear gloves when handling concentrated solutions.
