๐ Biosecurity Levels
Level 1: Farm Perimeter โผ
Fence the quail housing area, limit access, post biosecurity signs, use foot baths.
Level 2: Building Access โผ
Designate clean/dirty zones, provide dedicated footwear, hand wash station.
Level 3: Bird Management โผ
Quarantine new birds for 30 days, purchase from reputable sources only.
๐ Biosecurity Plan Template
Use this template to create your farm's biosecurity plan. Complete each section and review quarterly:
1. Farm Perimeter
- โFenced area with limited access points
- โ"Biosecurity Zone" signs posted
- โFoot baths at all entry points (changed daily)
- โVisitor log maintained at entrance
- โWild bird netting/screens installed
- โRodent bait stations placed around perimeter
2. Building Access
- โDedicated farm boots/shoe covers at entrance
- โHand wash station with soap and sanitizer
- โClean/dirty zones clearly marked
- โLimited number of authorized personnel
- โDogs/cats excluded from quail house
3. Bird Management
- โNew birds quarantined for 30 days
- โAll birds purchased from NPIP-tested sources
- โEquipment never shared between flocks without disinfection
- โDead birds removed and disposed of immediately
- โSick birds isolated in separate area
- โ"All-in, all-out" management practiced when possible

Always remove birds before disinfecting. Rinse food-contact surfaces with clean water after disinfection. Never mix chemicals. Wear gloves when handling concentrated solutions.
